Dr. Mike Burcon was one of the lucky ones to have been at Evel's canyon jump and has just sent me a still from a super 8mm. film he made of the event! it is truly an amazing shot of the chute cover twisted around one of the support poles at the bottom of the launch ramp! this is what I had learned from Earl "the Duke"Castine a while back and have been telling people ever since! ( see the canyon proof page) well this is EXACTLY what I had always hoped for but never thought we'd get to see! a BIG THANKS to Dr. Mike! and also Jim Coffey for the nice pics of BOTH the X2-skycycle and it's twin X2-test rocket, so because of this I also found out about Evel's show bikes, here is the scoop on those. From speaking to Evel and Earle I know for a fact Evel had five XR-750's,one was stolen, it is in an HD dealer in Boston, one is in the Smithsonian, one in Evel's display trailer, one was kept by Roger Reiman and I know where the remaining one is, its safe and NOT on display. all the other's that various places have on display throughout the US and Canada are replicas. the one Evel has always carried around was the main jump bike.//// BUBBABLACKWELL.COM /// and check out "KNIEVEL'S CUSTOM CYCLES"

How to spot the test rocket from the real X2- that was used for the jump. The best way to tell is the gauges, on the test rocket, they were placed right where the "N" in "Knievel" is. and also Evel sat in the test rocket as shown below (L.R.) but on that test/photo op day he wore a motorcycle helmet with a visor and on the day he flew in the X2 (he still owns) he had on what looks to be more of a fighter pilot's type helmet. (R.) in the photo below (L.L.) you can see the gauges are on the "K" in "Knievel" this photo that came right off the film of the jump, this is a photo of Evel just before take off. now the "test" rocket is real BUT IT IS NOT THE X2 SKYCYCLE EVEL USED on sept 8th. 1974 for the snake river canyon jump! just watch the film for your self and see.

The X-2 skycycle is still owned by Evel to this day, He has shown it at many appearances across the country over the years. it is not in Canada. and it is NOT on e-bay. what those people have for sale on e-bay is the X-2 test rocket but NOT the Rocket Evel flew in. there were two test shots the X-1 smaller rocket and the X-2 test rocket

and how to tell the difference from the "test" cycle that is on ebay and the one Evel used"

these two photos show the 'test" X-2 right after it was brought up from the Snake River after it's one and only test shot, as you can see the nose is not smashed up and it still has the exact paint today, no chuckels add on the rear of the "test" rocket as is on the famous X2 that Evel jumpd in on Sept. 8 th. I will be glad to answer any question you may have on this rocket. but the one on e-bay is NOT THE X2-SKYCYCLE the was used for the famous jump.

	Evel never liked the word "Hero" used with his name, He said "I'm not a Hero! I'm a life risker, an explorer" but I could never find a better word to describe him. I know what ment, He didn't think of himself as a "Hero", A Hero is like a Soldier who stands in harms way for His or Her country or a Fireman who runs into a burning building to rescue a child. Yes those are real Heros but what about a man who makes a name for himself doing what other men will not or can not do, A man who teaches millions of young people that "you may fall many times in life but your never a failure if you try to get back up" and a man who takes the time to stop his show and tell the kids DON'T DO DRUGS! and they all listened and many, oh so many of them turned away from that "first drug experiance". How many lives have been changed by this man? countless lives. I can not have no other name for that man than "HERO"
